In October 2026, WOD and APE Grupo Middle East brought The New Habitat to Dubai for a lively conversation inspired by Futurea’s research.

Our panel featured Marcela Munoz (M Moser Associates), Nagham Ewaiwi (Gensler), Naji Safi (DLR Group) and Harsha Kotak (WOD), exploring how workplace design is evolving.

When Harsha asked about the increasingly blurred line between hospitality and the workplace, Naji reminded us: “While the line between hospitality and workplace is almost blurred, it’s important that we keep a fine balance to retain the integrity of the functions of each space. And this can be achieved by thinking beyond design.”

Marcela and Nagham shared project experiences to build on Harsha’s challenge: how can workplaces borrow from hospitality without losing sight of their core purpose?

Hosted by Harsha Kotak and Siddharth Peters from Love That Design, the interactive audience session was a clear winner—with laughter, banter, strong opinions and plenty of competitive spirit as attendees picked sides and challenged each other’s thinking.
