In early May 2026, Women in Office Design Germany hosted an inspiring panel discussion at POLIS Convention 2026 exploring how existing buildings, architecture and interior design can be rethought to create spaces that are both future-ready and sustainable.
Under the title “From Substance to Future,” the session brought together experts from across hospitality, workplace design, education and architecture to discuss the evolving role of adaptive reuse, long-term functionality and sustainable spatial design within the built environment.
The panel featured; Maike Arndt (Althoff Hotels), Nina Grauting (apoprojekt), Christiane Ern (Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences & ern+ heinzl) and Andreas Jacob (brandherm + krumrey interior architecture).
The discussion was moderated by Germany Core Team Member, Susanne Brandherm of brandherm + krumrey interior architecture, and welcomed visitors from across the industry for an open and engaging exchange of ideas.
