Design for the Senses – London, UK: 2025 @Bene (CDW 2025)
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the “Designing for the Senses” event during Clerkenwell Design Week 2025. Hosted by WOD founder Harsha Kotak the event was a deep dive into how our sensory experiences shape and are shaped by the spaces we inhabit.
Key Highlights:
Material Impact: Fitzroy Godfrey (tp bennett) and Patricia Möckesch (Bene) emphasized that materials and finishes are more than aesthetic choices—they’re psychological and emotional triggers that influence how we feel and perform in a space.
Sensory Sensitivity: Mariana Anelli (M Moser Associates) shared compelling insights into hypersensitive and hyposensitive experiences, highlighting the importance of designing spaces that cater to diverse sensory needs.
Designing for Humans: Jeni Durksen (M Moser Associates) and Sarah Buch (HLW International) shared their insights and project examples on the topic with a compelling argument of the importance of data collection and its usage to measure impact.
Thank you to our speakers, attendees, as well as Fergus Bowen and Emily Knott from Bene for their hospitality. Let’s continue to champion designs that engage all our senses and create environments where people truly thrive.
